Psychotherapy & Counseling can help with many things, including: identifying & reducing anxiety, shifting depression, creating boundaries/learning to say no, improving communication skills, healing trauma, healing grief, making a major life transition, learning to feel emotions instead of pushing them down, reconciling with chronic illness & pain, learning to be present, increasing awareness of body & mind, improving self-esteem & self trust, practicing being honest with yourself, etc…the list goes on….

I do not. A first full session is a better measure of if you like the way I work with clients.
I do, however, offer your first session at the reduced rate of $100/50 minute session.
-
There are several options for frequency depending on what you’re wanting out of our work together.
We will determine in the first session what your goals are & what’s best for meeting those goals.

This is a very hard question for most therapists to answer without meeting someone & talking through their goals for therapy. However, I would say that reducing symptoms such as panic & high anxiety can take as few as 5 or 6 sessions. Deep work related to trauma usually takes at least 3 to 4 months before enduring change can be consistently felt.
My opinion is also that faster is not better. Slow & effective is preferable! In the mindfulness world we say “a little often is better than a lot sometimes.”

I do not work with anyone under the age of 19.

Yes, I offer online sessions in the state of Missouri & Colorado.
Online sessions play an important role when in-person clients need to pivot because scheduling conflicts arise, the weather is nasty or someone is not feeling well enough to come to the office.

Maybe some things you can find on an app if you'd like to randomly choose things and hope they work for you. My experience is that most people don't really know what they are looking for or what would help their situation & end up wasting time & energy.
Another way to think about it is...if you want to learn Jazz Dance (which requires a lot of technique) you could watch a video on Youtube & learn some things, you could take a Jazz dance class & learn even more or you could work with a dance instructor 1-on-1 & progress much further than you could on your own.

Counselor: a broadly used term, you'll need to look at credentials & education to know how someone is using this title.
Psychotherapist: a term that is usually used by individuals who have completed a Master's degree in Counseling Psychotherapy, Marriage & Family Counseling or Clinical Social Work. Someone using this term is also likely to be licensed in their state of practice or to use a label such as "unlicensed psychotherapist" if they have the education, but are working towards licensure.
Psychologist: this term usually indicates someone who has reached PhD level & who may have engaged in specific research or continues to contribute to research. Licensing varies by state for clinical or counseling psychologists, so you'll need to look at training & education to know exactly what training this person has.
Psychiatrist: this term indicates a medical degree & the only level of mental health professional who prescribes medication. Psychiatrists often don't offer counseling or therapy, but some do.
Coach: coaches are not licensed or regulated & are not mental health providers. There's nothing to stop anyone from using the term coach even if they have zero training. There are training programs for coaches, but the content, length & requirements vary broadly. You will need to look at the specific training the individual has to know what experience they have.

Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost (this applies to Psychotherapy/Mental Health Counseling).
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
● You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
● Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
● If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
● Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.“
